Asian Civilisations Museum
Guess who is back from the deep, scary well? There are no prizes for the correct answer though, but how about a nice, informative trip to another museum? This time, we are visiting Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM)!
Due to strict photography rules, our little guest has to behave herself at all times. Nonetheless, it is still going to be rather fun! I mean, a ghost from the well doesn't see much in the first place. While there aren't any Japanese exhibits, I am sure she can make do with other Asian histories.
This is a special exhibit from the museum's latest curation, except that the rest of it requires paid admission. Never mind, we are still able to admire the beautiful lights over the cherry blossoms. Don't they remind you of Japan, Sadako? No, all of that is Korean unfortunately...but I am referring to the cherry blossoms.
For some reason, I am reminded of The Golden Pillow - the actual Golden Pillow isn't golden ironically, but apparently it is invaluable. Those humongous specimens also look like many other things, depending on how vivid one's imagination is.
Now, we are talking - the ancient remains from the 14th century ranging from bones to earthenware. The teeth looks a little frightening though! I believe that those are deer antlers right next to the teeth - did mankind use them for medicine back then?
The idea of ceramics can be pretty calming, doesn't it? They are reminiscent of evolving times, places and cultures. I bet one of those plates or cups would cost an arm, a leg and probably something else!
This is just awesome! A large net of fish hanging out to dry, like how people without the privileges of technology used to do everyday. Gosh, it is hard not to salivate while looking at this! Hmm, are you feeling hungry too, Sadako?
Such therapeutic structures - if only anybody could just remain there forever!
The galleries are just brimming with ancient, exotic beauties - it would be kind of fashionable to own one of those now, wouldn't it?
Here are more random picks around the museum...
Some beautiful paintings of landscapes and water transportation.
Exquisite art needs no prerequisites for appreciation and admiration. By the way, those Indian knives and such are simply alluring.
Religious artifacts also play an essential role in the growth of a country. The carvings are so meticulous.
Well, how did you like the visit, Sadako? Seriously, you should get out of that well more often!
