A Hot Hot Summer (for Anime)

Summer has dawned upon us. I can't help but think of cute swimsuits and the endless ocean glistening in the sun. For those who aren't jetting off to exotic beaches around the world to work on your tan, you can take a leaf out of my book and spend your days enjoying the new heat wave of anime. This season sees more manga adaptations, some long overdue *cough*Berserk*cough*, new seasons of popular anime, and what most fans are waiting for... the return of D. Gray Man.

Let's get started!

1. Handa-kun

My favourite misunderstood artist, Seishuu Handa, from Barakamon is back! Although admired by his schoolmates for being a calligraphy genius, Handa mistakes the attention he is given as bullying. One after another, people who "challenge" Handa go away a new fan, but Handa himself remains horrified and clueless. Watch Handa-kun navigate the pitfalls high school life!

2. Fudanshi Koukou Seikatsu

Check out my previous post on the manga the anime is based on! Unfortunately, we will only be getting 5 minute episodes as this is a TV short. Not just for fudanshi and fujoshi, I highly recommend everyone check this out! (ง ˃̶͈̀ᗨ˂̶͈́)۶

3. Shokugeki no Soma: Ni no Sara

This one needs no explanation. SNS is highly popular! With gorgeous art, dynamic food wars and an equally colourful cast, I definitely will not miss out on the second season! I love Souma so much, and his chibi form is so cuuuuuuute (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ

4. D.Gray-Man: Hallow

Another hotly anticipated one, D.Gray-Man returned after a long hiatus! The first episode was amazing, wasn't it? Man, Lavi got cuter! ( ˘ ³˘)♥

5. Fukigen na Mononokean

One way to instantly attract me to a new series is to have mononoke! The tale revolves around the morose owner of "Mononokean" who guides these spirits into the next world. The description kind of reminds me of Mushishi which I really love, so I'm looking forward this this as well ^_^

6. Berserk

The anime is based off the very famous dark fantasy action manga of the same name! Berserk was one of those series that introduced me to the more mature and dynamic art style of manga! Erm, it also introduced me to more violent mangas... The last time Berserk had an anime, I was still a baby! Suffice to say I have already begun watching it!

What anime series are you watching this summer?
