Onimusha Capcom Trading Figures by Furuta
I had purchased this set of Onimusha 鬼武者 Capcom Trading Figures by Furuta sometime back in 2005 but it was stowed away in my boxes of toy collection. Today I shall unbox this collection and show you how beautiful these figures are. The entire set consists of 7 + 1 secret figures and made up of Michelle, Aubert, Samanousuke, Kaede, Oyu, Ako, Marcellus (demon form) and Panda Warrior (secret character). Fans of the game Onimusha will know the characters by heart but I confess I don't know who's who. I had purchased this figures because it just looked stunning when displayed on the seller's booth.
The completed set of figures. It measures about 4 inches and comes with a diorama base.
Onimusha Warlords, released in Japan as Onimusha (鬼武者), is the first action-adventure video game of the Onimusha series, released first for the Playstation 2 in 2001. Later it was released in an updated form as Genma Onimusha (幻魔 鬼武者) for the Xbox in 2002.
The game's plot is set in the Sengoku period and focuses on the samurai Samanosuke Akechi who fights against the forces of Nobunaga Oda. After Nobunaga's death in battle, Samanosuke goes on a quest to save Princesss Yuki from demons working alongside Nobunaga's forces. The player controls Samanosuke and his partner, a female ninja Kaede, in their fight against demons.
The Warlord shown here lends itself to the handsome Taiwanese/Japanese actor Takeshi Kaneshiro. Some of the older folks like me will know of him.
The yellow and red fiery box cover of Onimusha.
鬼武者
7 + 1 secret altogether
Each figure is nicely wrapped in individual bag.
Figures are well protected and illustration papers included.
Now I'm ready to do some light assembly.
The workmanship is good and the holes fit perfectly. I can feel the stability once the figure is stucked into the holes of the diorama base.
