I should wear a hoodie like nano...
Are hoodies cool? Are they trendy? I seem to see a lot of people wear it. Justin Bieber used to wear it. Oh yeah. There are some anime characters that wears a hoodie. Saito from Zero no Tsukaima. Takato Matsuki from Digimon Tamers. Kyouko from Puella Magi. Yamato from MajiKoi. Aside from that, there's Yuzuki Yukari from the Vocaloid series.

Well, that was a weird start. Anyway, today as of some of
you could have guessed, I will be talking about nano, one of my favourite
singers. The others would be Horie Yui, LiSA, Kurosaki Maon, Eir Aoi, Nana
Mizuki, T.M. Revolution, fripSide, Flow and the band, Zwei (not talking about
myself).
nano is indeed a girl and I was quite shocked when I found out about it as she sounds like a guy (no offence). And I bet some of you were surprised when you found out about it.

Some information on her.
nano is a bilingual singer… Oh sorry… “Utaite”. “Utaite” is
a term applied to people who does covers mostly on Vocaloid songs, anime
openings and endings, games and J-pop songs. They will then post it on Nico
NIco Douga and YouTube under the category “utattemitta”. This term is unique to
them as it differentiates them from “kashu” or singer.
Anyway, she speaks both English and Japanese thus,
bilingual. She was born on 12 July 1988 in New York but she returned to Japan.
She is most definitely a female. She has a sweet tooth as she likes to eat ice
cream, especially from Haagen-Dazs, chocolate and strawberries. She adores cats
and her favourite color is red. She is also bad at cooking
She likes to do Vocaloid covers and writes English lyrics
for those songs, giving them a zest of western feel to it.
Since no one has ever seen her face, except for a privilege
few, her fans know her by her avatar. Her avatar is described as having red,
mid-length hair and wears a mask on some occasions.

She made her debut on the 14 of March 2012 under the label
“flying dog”, which makes this upcoming March 14th the 2nd
anniversary of her debut. Her first album was called “nanoir” which was
released on 14 March 2012 as well. She also started hosting a real-time radio
program called “NANORAJI” on her website.
Her first concert was on March 16 last year, which I wanted
to go but it is in Japan and I was enrolling into Poly then so I feel a bit
frustrated for it. I do hope she comes for this year’s AFA. I heard that she
revealed her face at her first concert, which adds up to my frustration, as I
really want to see her face. Kuyashii!
nano also does openings and endings for various anime over
the years which is what pulled me to listen to her and eventually become her
fan. The first song she did was the opening theme for the anime “Phi Brain 2nd
Season” which was entitled “Now or Never”. She also did the theme song for the
game “Conception” which is a PSP game developed by Spike.

A recent song released by her was the single “SAVIOR OF SONG”
featuring My First Story’s Hiro.
It was used as the opening song for the anime
“Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio: Ars Nova” which has relation to my previous post
about Kantai Collection. “Silver Sky”, another of her song, was also used in
the anime. An anime that is ongoing and uses her song from her new single, ”Born
to be”, is “Mahou Sensou” or Magical Warfare where they use it as the ending
song.
Her song “Happy Ending Simulator” is use as the theme song for the arcade game “Gunslinger Stratos 2”.

Well, that is about it from me. I am off to Uniqlo to find a
